📖 (4 months pregnancy)
Akshu sat on the couch, gently rubbing her small but growing baby bump, her face a mix of joy and uncertainty. She felt a flurry of emotions at once—excitement, nervousness, and even occasional sadness that she couldn't quite explain. But today, she was happy, her hand subconsciously resting on her stomach as she smiled to herself.
Veer, who was working on his laptop from the bed, looked up and noticed the soft glow on her face. He set aside his laptop and walked over, sitting beside her. "What's going on in that beautiful head of yours?" he asked softly, brushing a strand of hair away from her face.
Akshu chuckled, "I was just thinking... how weird it is. One moment I feel like crying over the smallest things, and the next, I'm so happy, I can't stop smiling." She gave him a playful pout. "It's all your fault, you know."
[Aww...Mama Bear🤌🏻😭]
"My fault?" Veer teased, gently placing his hand over hers on her belly. "Well, I guess I'll have to take responsibility then." He leaned down, pressing a soft kiss on her stomach. "Hey, little one, I hope you're behaving in there. Your mama's getting all these mood swings because of you."
Akshu giggled, feeling a wave of affection wash over her. "Veer, stop talking to the baby like that. You'll spoil the baby before he/she's even born."
He grinned, his eyes full of warmth. "Well, I have to start early, right? And besides, I think you need the pampering too."
Veer stood up suddenly, grabbing a cushion and placing it behind Akshu's back. "Are you comfortable? Do you need water? Snacks? Wait—let me get you your favorite blanket. It's a little chilly today."
Akshu laughed, shaking her head. "I'm fine, really. You're fussing too much."
"Too much?" Veer raised an eyebrow, pretending to be offended. "I'll have you know, Mrs. Akshara Veeranshu Singhaniya, that fussing over you is my favorite thing in the world."
She rolled her eyes, but her heart melted a little at his words. "Okay, okay. You win. But don't go overboard."
Veer winked at her. "No promises."
They both settled back, and as Akshu relaxed, she felt her mood shift again. Her eyes welled up for no reason, and she blinked rapidly. Veer immediately noticed, his playful demeanor fading into concern.
"Hey," he said gently, taking her hand again. "What's wrong?"
Akshu shook her head, wiping her eyes. "I don't know. I just... I'm so lucky to have you, and I don't know why I'm crying."
Veer smiled softly and pulled her into his arms. "It's okay. You don't have to know why. I'll be here through it all, no matter what. Cry, laugh, get mad at me, whatever you need. I've got you, Akshu."
She buried her face in his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart. "I love you, Veer."
"I love you too, Akshu," he murmured, pressing another kiss to the top of her head. "And I can't wait to meet our little one."
The two sat together in the quiet of their home, wrapped in each other's warmth, as Veer's gentle presence soothed Akshu's heart, making her feel like everything would be just fine.

Veer glanced up from his laptop when Akshu gently reminded him, "Veer, don't forget, we have to leave for Shyra and Abhi's wedding in Jaipur this evening."
He nodded, humming in response, though his mind was elsewhere. He picked up his phone and made a quick call to their doctor, scheduling an appointment before they left. He couldn't help but feel a mixture of anticipation and nervousness about the upcoming checkup.
Later that afternoon, as they sat in the doctor's office, Veer's heart raced a little faster than usual. He held Akshu's hand tightly, feeling the warmth of her soft fingers in his. "It's going to be fine," he whispered, more to himself than her. He had been trying to be strong for her these past few months, but the thought of seeing their baby—of hearing its heartbeat—was making his chest tighten with a mix of emotions he could barely contain.
Veer's POV:
The dim light of the sonography room cast soft shadows across Akshu's face as I sat beside her, holding her hand. My mind was racing, yet time seemed to slow down as we waited. I could feel the pulse in my fingers, my grip tightening around hers—almost like I was afraid to let go. She smiled at me, a soft, reassuring smile, but I could see the nervousness in her eyes too. This moment was huge for both of us, but I needed to be strong, for her, for us.
Now, as the doctor prepared the machine, I felt a strange mix of excitement and fear gripping me. What if something was wrong? I had been so good at holding everything together, at keeping Akshu calm when her mood swings hit or when she felt overwhelmed, but right now, I wasn't sure if I could hold myself together.
The cold gel touched her stomach, and the machine buzzed to life. My heart hammered as I stared at the screen. Then, there it was—a small flicker, almost unreal. And then the sound. That tiny, steady thumping that filled the room.
My breath caught in my throat. That was our baby. Our baby. I squeezed Akshu's hand tighter, unable to speak, as tears instantly welled up in my eyes. I wasn't the emotional type, but in that moment, I couldn't hold back. The sound was so pure, so beautiful—life itself.
Akshu turned to me, her eyes already shining with tears, her lips trembling into a smile. "That's... that's our baby, Veer," she whispered.
Hearing her say it broke something inside me. The walls I'd built to stay composed, to be her strength—they crumbled. My tears slipped free, and I didn't care anymore. "Yeah," I whispered back, my voice hoarse, "That's our baby." I leaned down, resting my forehead against hers, breathing her in, as if grounding myself in this moment.
[The softest version of Men🤌🏻😭]
I was overwhelmed with this fierce, protective love—a love that was different from what I felt for Akshu. This was new, deeper. I kissed her forehead, then looked back at the screen, at that tiny life. "I didn't think I could love you more than I already do, Akshu," I murmured, my voice shaking. "But this... this is beyond anything I've ever felt."
Akshu's tears flowed freely, but she was smiling, glowing in a way that made my heart feel like it was going to burst. "We're going to be parents, Veer," she whispered, her hand coming up to gently cup my cheek. "I still can't believe it."
I pressed my lips to her hand, closing my eyes for a moment, feeling the weight of those words. "I can't believe it either," I admitted, brushing away a tear from her face with my thumb. "But I know one thing for sure—I'm ready for this. For us. For everything."
The sound of the heartbeat was still there, steady and strong, like a promise. I placed my hand on her belly, feeling this connection to something I hadn't even met yet, but already loved more than I thought was possible. "You're carrying our world, Akshu. Everything I am, everything I will be—it's because of you. And now... because of this little one too."
Akshu smiled, her eyes overflowing with love and joy. "I love you, Veer. More than anything."
"I love you too," I whispered, feeling the tears spill again. "And I promise, I'll love this baby with everything I have."

Akshu's POV:
We were driving through the quiet streets, heading back home after the appointment. The sound of the baby's heartbeat still echoed in my mind, and my heart felt fuller than ever. Tomorrow morning, we'd be flying to Jaipur for Shyra and Abhi's wedding, but right now, everything felt calm, like the world had slowed down just for us.
As I stared out the window, lost in my thoughts, something caught my eye—a small, busy Panipuri stall by the side of the road. My mouth watered instantly, and I couldn't help the sudden wave of craving that hit me. I turned to Veer, my lips forming a pout as I called out softly, "Veer..."
He glanced at me with that affectionate smile of his. "Yes, sweetheart. Are you craving something?" he asked, his eyes twinkling with understanding.
I blinked. Had I said that out loud? Or could he really just read my mind these days?
He chuckled softly. "No, you didn't say anything, but I know you. You've been craving all sorts of things lately."
I smiled, feeling both touched and amused by how well he knew me. "Veer... can we stop for Panipuri, please?"
He raised an eyebrow, looking amused but not surprised. "Panipuri, huh?" He glanced at the stall, then back at me, his smile widening. "Alright. But you stay here. I'll get it for you."
"Veer, I can—"
He held up a hand, cutting me off gently. "Nope. Not a chance. You sit here and relax. I'll be right back with your Panipuri."
I couldn't help but grin as he parked the car. He unbuckled his seatbelt, giving me one last look. "You sure know how to keep me on my toes, you know that?"
I giggled. "You love it."
He leaned over, pressing a quick kiss on my forehead before stepping out. "Yeah, I do," he said with a wink before heading toward the stall.
As I watched him walk away, I couldn't help but feel this overwhelming sense of warmth. He always made sure I was taken care of, no matter how small the request. Even something as simple as Panipuri. Veer's love wasn't just in the big gestures—it was in moments like these, where he put my needs, my cravings, my everything, before his own.
And sitting there, waiting for my Panipuri, I felt nothing but pure, undeniable love for him.
A few minutes later, I watched as Veer approached, not just with the Panipuri in hand, but with the entire stall owner following him to the car. My eyes widened in surprise, my hand instinctively flying to my mouth in disbelief.
[My man raising my standards😭🤌🏻🤌🏻❤️]
"Veer... what... did you seriously bring the whole stall here?" I asked, half laughing, half amazed.
Veer grinned, that mischievous smile of his lighting up his face. "Well, I couldn't just let you sit here and miss out on the full experience, could I?"
I giggled, shaking my head. "You're unbelievable."
"Unbelievably in love with you, maybe," he quipped with a wink, motioning for the stall owner to set up right beside our car.
Soon enough, the familiar, tangy smell of Panipuri filled the air, and I couldn't wait any longer. I leaned out of the car window, grinning like a child. Veer, standing beside me, handed me the first one, and I eagerly popped it into my mouth. The explosion of flavors—spicy, tangy, and sweet—had me closing my eyes in pure bliss.
Between mouthfuls, I couldn't stop smiling. "Veer, this is so perfect," I mumbled through a stuffed mouth. He laughed, watching me with that soft, loving look that made my heart flip every time.
"Eat as much as you want, sweetheart. I'll make sure the stall stays here all night if you need it."
I shook my head, grinning. "You spoil me too much."
As I continued eating, I picked one up and turned to him, holding it out. "Your turn," I insisted.
He hesitated. "It's for you—"
"No," I interrupted, giving him a playful glare. "I'm not eating alone. You're in this with me, mister."
Veer laughed, leaned down, and let me feed him the Panipuri. His face scrunched up slightly at the spicy kick, and I giggled at his reaction. "Too spicy for you, Mr. Tough Guy?" I teased.
[Mujhe wo engagement ka din yaad aagya😭 dekhna veer icecream khayega]
He shook his head, chuckling. "Nope, just perfect. As long as I'm sharing it with you."
We continued like that, eating together, laughing, and teasing each other between bites. Each time I handed him one, he'd take it without complaint, even if the spice got to him. And with every Panipuri, I felt the love and warmth between us grow stronger, like these simple moments were weaving us together in ways words couldn't describe.
When I finally leaned back, satisfied, I sighed happily. "That was amazing. Thank you, Veer."
He smiled softly, brushing a strand of hair behind my ear. "Anything for you, Akshu."
We waved goodbye to the stall owner and got back into the car. My heart felt so full, not just from the food, but from everything—his love, his thoughtfulness, and how he always made me feel so cherished.
As we drove home, I rested my head on his shoulder, content and at peace. Veer's hand found mine, and he squeezed it gently. "Ready for tomorrow?" he asked, his voice soft.
"With you by my side? Always," I replied, feeling that familiar warmth in my chest. With Veer, everything felt right.
