Akshu POV:
After Mr. Singhaniya left, Chacha and Chachi were glaring at me. I feared for my life, but what they did next was utterly shocking; they simply walked away as if nothing had happened.
(Huhh...Kya hi kar skte h wo chachundar, tumhare veer ne jo unko sabak sikhaya h😏)
"Ye awaz kaha se aa rhi h??", Akshu being innocent didn't know that her author was talking to her viewers. Author went away closing the portal.
[From where this voice is coming?]
"Akshu, you should sleep now. Nowadays, you are not sleeping properly. OH..How can I when Mr. Singhaniya hai meri life me. " I said to myself being irritated.
Kal mujhe mattha tek ke aana hoga babaji ke waha, tabhi mere dil ko shanti milegi. [Tomorrow I'll get to Gurudwara to seek blessings of Babaji]
Life has never been easy for me. Sometimes, I wonder if things would have been different if I had a family like everyone else. But then, why does it feel like no one loves me? Am I really that unlovable? Even my own relatives and cousins seem to have ulterior motives. And my parents... they left me at the doorstep of an orphanage. I can't help but feel like a burden to everyone around me. The pain becomes unbearable at times.
Tonight, as tears silently roll down my cheeks, I lie on my bed feeling utterly alone, like a soul devoid of any light.
But then, something unexpected happened. When I met Meera aunty, Veer's mom, she hugged me. For a brief moment, warmth enveloped me, and I dared to imagine what it might feel like to belong to a family like theirs. Could it be possible for someone like me?
[You deserve all the love my baby😭🫂]
I find solace in music, in singing. It's my way of expressing the turmoil within me. And tonight, I choose 'Tujhse Naaraz Nahi Zindagi,' my favorite song. Its lyrics resonate with my pain, each word echoing the longing and disappointment I feel in my heart.
"Tujhse naaraz nahi zindagi Hairaan hoon main
Tere masoom sawaalon se Pareshaan hoon main"
These lines hit me deeply. They speak of not being angry at life, but rather being amazed and troubled by its innocent questions. Just like me, life asks questions I struggle to answer. The song becomes my companion, each verse a mirror to my emotions.
As I sing, the words carry the weight of my sorrow, yet also offer a glimmer of hope. Maybe, in these moments, through the music and the feeling of warmth of Meera aunty's hug, I can find a sliver of the family and love I've yearned for.
A/N: Play this song and imagine Akshu singing this song. 🥺
Akshu felt her eyes drooping and soon she went into a deep slumber.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Next Day at Singhaniya House:
Everyone was busy with their tasks. Sindhu and Sulochana returned from their foreign trip. Dadi was seated at the head of the dining table, waiting for everyone to gather.
Soon, everyone arrived and took their respective seats. Veer sat next to his brother Hriday, while Anshveer took a seat in front of Hriday, and Pakhi sat beside him.
The quiet was shattered by Meera who playfully chided, "Veer, when will you consider marriage? When your father has grown old with many wrinkles?" Her husband, feigning shock and offense, retorted, "Sweetheart, how is it that I am old, and you remain young?" His words were accompanied by a teasing smile.
"Papa and Mama, I think I am ready to get married, and I also like someone," I declared. Upon hearing this, Hriday, who was sipping orange juice, spat it all out on Anshveer. Every member at the dining table gasped in shock, which was soon replaced by roaring laughter. Recovering from his surprise, Anshveer said irritably, "Hriday ke bacche, tujhe agar juice peene nahi aata toh leta q h? meri shirt kharab kar dina tune.", he glared at his younger brother and stormed off to change.
[ Hriday, you little rascal, if you can't drink juice properly, why bother taking it? You've ruined my shirt]
"Who is the girl? The one from the party that day? If it's her, I would be overjoyed to have her as my daughter-in-law," Meera said, her excitement palpable. Bhavya smiled at his wife, his admiration evident. Sulochana chimed in, "Bhabhi, it's not fair that you met her and didn't tell me," She declared, pouting. "Sulu, let Veer talk to her today, and then we can take the proposal to their house," Meera suggested to her sister-in-law..
"We'll discuss this later; I have an important meeting to attend," Veer replied and went away in his car. Reaching near Akshu's house, he stepped out of his car and headed straight to his sweetheart's house, where he stood at a distance, waiting for her. She emerged, dressed in a white palazzo set, adorned with minimal makeup and silver jewelry.
She hailed an auto-rickshaw; Veer trailed her, unbeknownst to her. After a ten-minute drive, the auto-rickshaw stopped in front of a Gurudwara. He parked his car and followed her inside. As they entered, they witnessed a newlywed couple exiting the Gurudwara, surrounded by their family. Akshara smiled, envisioning her own wedding someday. Veer noticed her smile and saw an opportunity, pondering if he might marry his beloved.
(Play Ranjha song)
Akshu sat before the sacred book, her heart racing. Veer trailed behind her like a lost puppy, clutching her chunni—the veil draped over her head. After four rounds, she halted, and Veer stood by her side. The priest bestowed blessings upon them for a blissful married life. But Akshara's world shattered when she heard the priest's words. She turned to face her beautiful nightmare: "Mr. Veeranshu Singhaniya."
"Congratulations, wifey. ", Veer said being actually happy for the very first time in his life. Akshu grabbed him by wrist and dragged him outside the Gurudwara. In an instant, Akshara's hand met his cheek in a sharp slap. "Why, Mr. Singhaniya? Tell me it's a lie. I don't want this marriage, and I don't love you."
"Akshu, listen you don't believe me right, but you will believe this.", Veer replied, pulling out his phone. He revealed pictures sent by his secret investigator moments ago. "Now, listen to me very carefully akshara. You are my wife, Understood."
"Please, Leave me. I can't live with you. Please I request you.", Akshara pleaded, her hands clasped. Veer kissed her palms gently. "No, wifey. We must leave. It's late. I'll take you home."
Akshara felt lifeless. Her dreams of a happy marriage shattered. How could she live with a man she feared? Veer intertwined their hands and walked away and settled akshara in his car. No words were exchanged in the whole car ride.
They stopped outside her house, she longed to escape. Veer read her mind: "Sweetheart, don't mistake my sweetness and kindness. I am not what I seem. I am a devil in disguise. Try to pull any stunt tomorrow and you will witness my darkest side, Understood??? Hmm. Now go." His words hung in the air, leaving Akshara trembling
She ran from there and went inside her room. Tears flowed freely as she thought about her cruel fate, "How can I spent my life with a man, who admits he's not good?" she whispered to the deity. "Oh Kanhaji, where am I trapped? Please guide me!"
The night stretched endlessly, each second an eternity. Akshara resolved to escape—to flee this place, this city, and, above all, him. Her determination crystallized into a desperate plan.
Veer Congratulating his wife. ✨✨❤️
Author note: I don't know much about Sikh wedding, what I searched and read, I wrote that. So don't bash on me for that. I respect every culture.
Now, the fun begins. 🌚😏
I cried while writing Akshu's POV. Maybe because at some point of my life, I felt like her; the situations were different, but the feelings were same. Akshu will be strong in future.
