11. Dinner Date with me?

Akshu pov:

Again, new day, new hope but for what, I know I can't escape now. He is a devil. But why his behavior is making me feel things, which are forbidden for me. What about my dream? Will he let me open my own dance academy? maybe he will not like it. I won't tell him, or else he will be angry with me.

Okay, but what's the one thing that's good in this marriage : his family. They are so loving and caring. And the siblings, wo to such me hi bacche h.

Now too much of talking, I should get ready and go for the breakfast or Dadiji will scold me for leaving breakfast. By the way, Dadiji is so cool. I am sure, she will vibe with my Shyra.

(Ek aur aane wali h😏 iykyk)

I did my morning routine and then wore a full-sleeve chikankari white suit. The intricate embroidery of the chikankari work made the suit look elegant and timeless. I accessorized with some delicate jewelry, including a pair of matching earrings and a simple necklace. To complete the look, I added a set of colorful bangles that clinked softly with every movement, adding a touch of traditional charm to my attire.

I descended the stairs and saw him following behind me. When I reached the dining area, he pulled out a chair for me like a true gentleman, which I knew he was usually not.

"Beta, I think we should do all the rituals at Singhaniya Mansion and then the marriage at the Palace. What do you all say?" Dadiji suggested to Papaji and Chachaji. We all were just listening quietly.

Suddenly, Papaji looked towards me and asked, "Betaji, what do you think about this? Anything you wish?" I looked at him, perplexed, and then relaxed a bit. It was the first time in my life someone asked about my wish. It was so overwhelming for me that I didn't realize when I started sobbing, but someone grabbed my hands and reassured me. I looked up and saw Hriday smiling at me.

"Bhabhi maa, I know it's a new feeling. But you know one thing: we all love you very much and your opinion matters. If you don't want to marry my bhai, it's fine, I'm here," Hriday said with a teasing tone.

Veerji lightly hit him on the head and said, "Tu zyada nahi bol rha h. Tera card block karwata hu, rukk tu."

"Hahahaa... Bhaiyya, you are so cute. Mai to tease kr rha tha aap logo ko. Mujhe toh bhabhi maa ko hasana tha," Hriday said, afraid of his bhai and not wanting to be penniless at such a young age.

[I was teasing you. And I wanted to Make sister in law laugh.]

"Veeransh, he was just teasing. Please don't block anything," I pleaded with puppy eyes. "Don't do that, baby... Okay, fine..", Veer said, looking into my eyes softly, "But you... don't give stupid ideas to my wife," with the last line directed at Hriday. We all laughed at their cute banter.

"Okay, betaji, you say what you want," Chachaji asked this time. I looked up and said, "Aapko jaisa sahi lage kijiye."

[This family is a green flag.🤌🏻😭❤️]

"Okay, then it's final, and we will also do a pre-wedding shoot after the haldi ritual," Dadiji said.

Soon, dadiji left the dinning area and we all retreated to our respective rooms. I was feeling bored. So, I thought to explore the mansion.

I was roaming in the mansion's garden when my phone started ringing. I checked who it was and saw it was none other than Mr. Singhaniya. I picked up the call.

"Hello, Little Birdie, how are you?" he asked. Is he crazy, calling me just to ask this? Uff...

"I am fine. Why did you call?" I asked him in a timid voice.

"Kya mai apni BIWI ko call bhi nahi kar sakta?" he said, and whenever I hear that word 'BIWI,' something flutters in my stomach. Hey Kanhaji.

"No... No, you can call," I said, not wanting to anger him.

"Sweetheart, I have told one of the maids to keep your dress in your room. I want to take you somewhere. Will you come on a dinner date with me?" I was processing all the things he said.

He is asking for my consent. Can I say no? But I have no other option. So, I said, "Okay ji, I will come. Where are we going?"

"That's a surprise for you. I will pick you up at 7 pm. Okay, bye love," he said and hung up.

I went to my room and saw a box on my bed. I opened it to find an off-white saree. I sat on the edge of my bed, the off-white saree draped across my lap. My fingers traced the delicate fabric as my mind wandered back to a painful memory.

I was fourteen years old, living with my Chacha and Chachi adopted me. They had taken me in, but not out of love or compassion. To them, I was a burden.

One evening, Chachi accused me of stealing money from the household expenses. I tried to explain that I hadn't taken anything, but my words fell on deaf ears. Her voice still echoed in my mind, shrill and accusing.

"You thief! How dare you steal from us after all we've done for you!" Chachi screamed, her eyes blazing with anger.

[Chor jaisi shakal toh teri aur tere pati ki h]

Chacha, who had been sitting quietly, suddenly stood up and grabbed me by the arm. His grip was like a vice, squeezing my flesh painfully. "You think you can get away with this?" he growled.

Without warning, he dragged me to the small storage room. Chachi followed, her face twisted with fury. They pushed me inside and slammed the door shut. In the dim light, I saw the leather belt hanging from a nail on the wall. My heart sank.

Chacha took the belt and raised it high. "This will teach you a lesson," he said coldly.

The belt came down hard on my shoulders and back, the sharp pain making me cry out. I fell to the floor, but Chacha didn't stop. He kept lashing out, and each strike burned into my skin, leaving angry red welts that would later turn into scars.

[Kamina tu toh gyaa]

"Please, stop!" I begged, tears streaming down my face. But they didn't stop. Chachi stood there, watching with a twisted satisfaction, her arms crossed over her chest.

When Chacha finally stopped, I was left trembling on the floor, my body aching and my spirit crushed. Chachi sneered at me one last time before they left the room, leaving me in the darkness.

I wiped away a tear as the memory faded. I looked at the saree in my hands, grateful that it would cover my scars. I took a deep breath, trying to push the past behind me. Tonight was a new chapter, and I needed to be strong.

I stood up and began to get ready, determined to face whatever the evening had in store.

☝🏻This is the saree gifted by Veer.

(Hey bhagwan mujhe bhi veer jaisa banda dilado😭🤌🏻)

It's 6pm. I think I should start getting ready. I did only light makeup and then started wearing the saree. Why is it so difficult to wear a saree? What should I do now? I think I should call Pakhi. I called her.

"Hello, Bhabhi maa, aapne call kiya?" she picked up and asked in her chirpy voice.

[Bhabhi maa, you called?]

"Actually, Pakhi, I need your help. Can you come to my room?" I asked.

"Okay, I am coming," she said and came in just 5 minutes.

"Woah, Bhabhi maa, aaj toh bhaiyya gaye," she said, looking me up and down. [Woah, Bhabhimaa, today bhai is gone.]

"Am I not looking good, Pakhi?" I asked, feeling insecure.

"Aree, aap itni kaatilana lag rahi ho kya kahu. But iss saree me finishing nahi hai," she said, putting a finger on her chin. "I think I know a person who can fix this," she said and dialed a call.

[You look so breathtaking, what should I say more. But this saree needs some finishing.]

After 10 minutes, Maa came, and she smiled. She took my saree in her hands and started pleating the saree's bottom, bending a little.

"Maa, don't bend, please," I said, not wanting her to bend in front of me. I am not worth that; she loves me, and that's so much for me.

"Baccha, ek maa apni beti ke liye kuch bhi kar sakti and I want to take care and cherish you. Now, let me do it. Okay?" she said while caressing my face. She bent and secured the pleats.

[Baccha, a mother can do anything for her daughter.]

I felt a wave of emotions wash over me as Maa helped me with the saree. Her gentle touch and the way she cared for me brought tears to my eyes. I had never felt this kind of motherly love before. It was overwhelming and beautiful. As she adjusted the pleats, I felt a lump in my throat, realizing how much she loved me and how much she wanted to make me feel cherished and valued.

When she finished, she looked at me with such pride and affection that I couldn't help but smile through my tears. Her words, "Meri bacchi, tum kisi pari se kam nhi lag rhi," echoed in my heart, filling me with warmth and gratitude. I hugged her tightly, feeling a bond that went beyond words.

[My child you look no less than an angel.]

"Aap to mujhe bhul gaye," Pakhi's playful pout brought us back to the moment, and we all giggled together. It felt like I was part of a family, truly loved and accepted.

[You forgot me.]

(Veer mile na mile, meko meera aunty dedo😭 aunty breaking all stereo types of MIL🤌🏻❤️)

"Bhabhi maa, let me take some pictures of you. Stand like this," Pakhi said, taking out her phone and directing me to pose.

I stood as she instructed, trying to smile naturally despite my nervousness. She clicked a few photos, adjusting my stance and angle to get the perfect shots.

"Beautiful, Bhabhi maa! Just a few more," Pakhi said, capturing every detail of the saree and my look. Her excitement was contagious, and I found myself relaxing a bit, even enjoying the impromptu photoshoot.

We giggled as she showed me the pictures. "Look at this one, Bhabhi maa! You look amazing!" she exclaimed.

I glanced at the photos, feeling a small flutter of confidence. Pakhi's enthusiasm and genuine appreciation made me feel beautiful, something I hadn't felt in a long time.

As we wrapped up the photoshoot, I sat down, waiting for him. My mind wandered, thinking about the evening ahead. Would it be just another duty to fulfill, or could it be something more? The flutter of excitement and nerves kept me on edge.

Pakhi sat beside me, chatting about random things to keep my mind off the waiting. Her presence was comforting, a reminder that I wasn't alone in this new chapter of my life.

Then, the clock struck 7 pm, and my heart skipped a beat. Any moment now, he would be here to take me on this unexpected dinner date.

Veer's POV:

I was driving my car when my phone popped with a message. Glancing at it, I saw it was from Princess (Pakhi). I opened it and immediately took a sudden brake. I couldn't believe my eyes. I forgot to even breathe. My wife looked so breathtaking in this saree. She was just beyond my imagination.

She makes me crazy. Now, I wanted to see the Goddess in person. On the way home, I bought a bouquet of roses for her.

I drove at high speed and reached home in five minutes. I went inside and saw her waiting for me. Her beauty in that saree took my breath away all over again. I walked up to her and handed her the bouquet of roses. She deserves everything in this world. Her eyes shone when she saw the roses. I knew she loved roses.

"These are for you," I said softly, handing her the bouquet.

"Thank you, Veeransh," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper, as she took the roses from me.

"Sweetheart, let's go. We are getting late.", I offered her my hand and she took it, and we walked out together towards my car.

"Veeransh, where are we going?", she asked breaking the silence in the car, and I smirked, mentally being very excited to know about her reaction. "You will get to know, just wait.", I said looking in her eyes. She looked down shyly. "Akshu, you look so beautiful. Aapko dekhke meri saansein , maano tham si gayi." She didn't look up, but I know she was blushing.

[I forgot to breath, when I looked at you.]

[Okay Veer's love language always hits different🤌🏻❤️😭]

Play this song, "Falak tak" while reading forward.

We reached that place and and I quickly rushed towards her side and opened the car's door. She came out and took her soft and delicate hands. We further walked ahead intertwining our hands.

I saw how she gasped in surprise and her hands fly open to her mouth. "Veeransh, this.", she looked at me, her eyes tearful. "How did you knew about it?", she asked and I moved closer to her and gave a chaste kiss on her forehead. "You liked it baby? ", I asked softly smiling at her. The look on her face is worth 1000 millions, and I can spent it on her without any single hesitation.

"I love it. You know, I always wanted to stargaze in an open grass field. Thank you so much," she said, and I could see the cheerful look on her face. It pulls at some strings in my heart, and I can't help but fall in love with her even harder.

Her smile was radiant as she looked up at the sky, the stars reflecting in her eyes. I watched her, mesmerized by her simplicity and the genuine happiness she found in this moment. She seemed almost ethereal, like a delicate dream come to life.

She asked innocently looking up with her cute doe eyes, everytime her grey eyes meets mine, it automatically melts my cold heart. "But Veeransh what about the dinner?". I chuckled and said, "My innocent baby, we will have a dinner date under the stars, sitting on the grass, how you like."

We went on the grass removing our shoes, sitting on the mat. I had already done all the date preparations by myself. I wanted to make our first date special and memorable. We sat on the mat, and I opened the lids of the dishes, revealing it was biryani and some starters. I also didn't forgot her most favorite chocolate cake.

I can see the small smile tugged at her lips, if I had known this before, that these things would make her smile. I would have never forced her but call me selfish bastard, I can't let her go away from me.

We soon finished our dinner and washed our hands. We spread out a blanket on the grass and lay down, side by side. The cool night air and the gentle rustling of the leaves added to the tranquility of the moment. She turned her head to look at me, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

It's time, Veer. Now I should do it. Will she like this present?? Definitely.

"Akshu, I wanted to give you something. I know you don't love me. But I'll make sure that one day I'll be the person in your heart and soul. Just give me a chance. I will love it if you wear this.", I said sitting on my one knee and opening the velvet box; removing the ring.

"May I?", I asked for her hand. She hesitated a bit, but finally she gave me her hand. I slid the ring in her right hand's ringer finger.

"Biwi, I know I don't deserve such an innocent person like you. But I want to spend my entire life with you. You know when I went to shop a gift for you, I saw this Lotus ring and the only person, that came in my mind was YOU.", I said standing up on my feet, still holding her hands and admiring the beauty of the ring which was graced by her soft and beautiful hands.

"Why me, Veeransh?", she asked her eyes moistened and a lone tear escaped her eyes. I wiped that and said cupping her face with one hand, "Because just like a lotus, which grows in mud but still blooms beautifully. I know that you smile from outside but deep down you have hide so many things inside you. Maybe one day, I will be that much capable to share all your cries and pain. I love you." I gave her a forehead kiss and then we lay on the mat, side by side. I clicked some pictures of her, without her knowing.

"Look, there's Orion," she pointed out, her voice filled with awe.

I followed her gaze, but I was more captivated by the way her face lit up. I watched her, mesmerized by her fascination with the stars. Her simple joy was infectious, and in that moment, I realized how much she meant to me. She was my star, my everything, lighting up the darkest nights with her smile and laughter.

[You're telling me, what's so special about him. How can I not love this man😭, when he loves to raise my standards, every freaking time, he does or say something. And to the people who were saying how can his obsession turned to be in love. So, this was the moment he realized, he loves her. Okay is that clear.]

"It feels like dream.", she says. I was still staring her and answered, "Indeed it is." She looked towards me and said, "I was talking about the stars." I directly stared at her shiny glittery grey eyes, that shone brightly under the moonlight, "I was also talking about the only star in my life.".

"You are such a shameless man.", She blushed and looked away, but I could see the smile tugging at her lips. "Thank you," she whispered. "Only for you, BIWI." I spoke.

We lay there, talking about the constellations and sharing little dreams and secrets. It felt like time stood still, and in that serene moment, I realized how much she meant to me. Her innocence and the way she found joy in the simplest things made me want to protect her, cherish her, and make every moment as special as this one.

As the night grew darker, we grew quieter, simply enjoying the presence of each other. I reached out and held her hand, feeling the warmth and softness of her skin. She looked at me and smiled, and I knew I wanted to spend every star-filled night with her, making memories that would last a lifetime.

After hours of stargazing, we finally made our way towards home. When I pulled the car at the mansion's front gate. She came out of the car, and she walked towards our home, when she turned around, a shy smile on her face.

I was watching her movements, she came very close to me. This was the first time, she came this much close to me. She reached up to my height lifting her little toes, and held my face in her palms. I was surprised by her this courageous act. Her rosy lips touched my left cheek, and I can inhale her lingering lavender fragrance.

She quickly pulled out away from me and was going to run, when I grabbed her wrist, not too hard and pulled her towards me. Her back collided with my hard chest. "How can you just runaway, by giving me this sweet gift, sweetheart.", I whispered in her ear, I can see the blush on her side face. I moved her hairs on her left shoulder, and gave a peck on her rosy cheeks. Our gaze met, and we were caught in a trance. A trance that was so beautiful, that I never wanted it to break.

She blinked her lashes, and I can feel she is sleepy. So, I left her and she bid me before saying. "Goodnight Veeransh." She spoke. This evening will always be close to my heart.
