Author note:
After the ceremony, Akshu went to her room, feeling very restless. She wondered why she couldn't do anything for herself.
She loved his family, but she knew she couldn't live with him.
Suddenly, she heard a knock on the door. She got startled, but when she heard the voice, she calmed down.
"May I?" Nisha asked before entering. She came in with a warm smile.
Akshu POV:
"I couldn't talk to you well before," Nisha said while holding my hands. Her gesture made me want to trust her and tell her everything. But I can't do that. I don't want to risk her life.
"Are you okay? I mean, tum thik ho na? Kuch hua hai tumhe? Maine notice kiya tum kuch time se distracted thi, Akshu?" She bombarded me with questions.
[Did something happen? Are you okay? I have noticed you were distracted for sometime.]
How could she know all this? I didn't want to lie. After Shyra, someone had finally seen through my fake smile. I couldn't lie to her without making eye contact.
She held my chin and made me look up. Concern showed in her eyes as she said, "Akshu, kuch hua hai toh you can share with me, okay?"
[akshu did something happened, you can share with me, okay?]
She wanted to help me. Maybe I could escape. "Actually woh..." She clutched my hand tightly to assure me.
I looked around and closed the door. "Nisha woh..." I started to tell her everything, from today to a few hours ago.
When I looked up at her face, she was very angry. She started cursing Mr. Singhaniya, "Huh, kutta kamina haramkhor! Yeh Veer toh... I can't believe this, yaar!"
"Or tumne unko ek chanta tak nahi maara? I mean, kuch kaha nahi?" she said. I remembered the day when I slapped him; he didn't even flinch. I'm not as strong as him.
[And you didn't even slapped him? I mean, you didn't even say anything to him?]
"I did, but..." No words were coming out. I started crying, and Nisha engulfed me in a tight hug.
"Don't worry, main aagayi hu na, toh main kuch sochti hu." Nisha reassured me. I smiled a bit.
[Don't worry, I'm here now, I will think about it something]
Suddenly, Nisha said, "Shyra." She pulled away from the hug, and I saw Shyra standing at the doorstep.
She was clutching her lehenga so tightly. I knew she was angry with me. But I didn't want to risk her life.
She came toward me and yelled, "Akshu, tu pagal hai! Why did you not let me know about this? I would have helped you, but you kept it to yourself. Am I not your best friend, huh?"
I shook my head in denial. We were crying and hugging each other like our lives depended on it.
"I'm sorry, Akshu. I couldn't understand your pain," she said, and we all cried together, feeling a mix of relief, sorrow, and the deep bond of friendship that held us together.

After a while
"Now what?" Nisha asked, pacing around the room while Shyra tapped her foot, deep in thought. Akshu sat on the edge of the bed, feeling overwhelmed.
"Suno, abhi ke liye hum bahar jate hain, and pretend krenge ki as if nothing happened. Tab tak koi na koi idea jarur ayega," Nisha said, and the other two nodded in agreement.
[Listen, for now we will go outside, and pretend like nothing happened. Till then we can get some ideas.]
"Haa, chalo bhi," Shyra helped Akshu up, and they all plastered fake smiles on their faces to avoid any suspicious looks.
As they walked, they discussed different ideas, but they all seemed impractical. They were sure Veer would catch them quickly.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, Veer was busy with his mafia work. He received a call from his spy. "Hello," he said.
On the other side, the man said, "Sir, I got to know that Ma'am was being abused by her relatives and harassed by their son."
Hearing this, Veer's eyes turned bloodshot red, and his hands clenched into fists. His anger knew no bounds. He quickly hung up the call and headed to his wife.
He couldn't imagine how much she had suffered, but he wanted to hear it from her directly so he could punish them double for the pain they caused her.
Veer parked outside the mansion and went straight to her room. He knocked on her door. Akshu opened it, half asleep, but after seeing him, her sleep vanished.
Veer went inside and sat on a chair like a king. "Sit here, Lotus," he said, his cold voice resonating through the room. Akshara was terrified; she quietly sat at the edge of the bed.
Veer moved close to her and took her hands, noticing how she was shivering. He slid her long sleeves up and saw a burn mark on her arm. He looked up and asked, "Who did this to you, sweetheart? Hmm?"
She got scared and tried to pull her sleeves down, but he held her hands, glaring at her. She gulped and said, "Huh... Ji, woh Chacha Chachaji used to beat me a little," she said, fearing he might do the same to her.
When Veer saw the burn mark, a deep sorrow mingled with his anger. The sight of her injury was like a knife to his heart. He struggled to keep his voice steady, not wanting to frighten her further, but his anger was barely contained. His mind raced with thoughts of revenge against those who dared harm his wife.
As Akshu explained, her voice shaky, Veer's expression hardened. The idea of someone laying a hand on her filled him with a cold, calculating fury. His thoughts were already plotting the downfall of those responsible. So he threw the vase which was beside him on the floor.
Seeing Akshu cower in fear broke his heart, and he immediately softened, moving to comfort her.
"Sweetheart, come here. I am not hurting. It's just I can't imagine seeing the marks on your hands.", he said going towards her.
He took her in his arms and whispered, "sorry, for not being there for you. But now I won't let any motherfucker to even touch you. You are safe with me. No one can harm you."
Holding her close, he vowed to protect her, his voice gentle but firm. The promise he made was as much for himself as for her.
Akshara, though still scared, felt a sense of safety in Veer's arms that she hadn't felt before. The conflicting emotions of fear and comfort left her exhausted, and she soon fell asleep. Veer, now calm but resolute, ensured she was safe before dealing with the people who hurt her.
He called his man and ordered, " I want that fuckers Mishra's family in my basement. Don't touch them I will handle them by myself. "
"You messed with wrong person Mishra, I already warned you, now you will face the wrath of the devil.", Veer said and went away to his only place, his mother.
He saw his mother sitting quietly in her room. He knocked on the door softly. She looked up and gave him a gentle nod, allowing him to enter. Veer walked in and immediately went to her, putting his head on her lap. The moment he did, he felt a wave of peace wash over him. After his mother, only Akshara could make him feel this way.
His mother didn't say anything. She knew her son well; whenever he faced a tough situation, he would come to her for comfort. She began to caress his head lovingly, her fingers moving gently through his hair. This simple gesture was all he needed to feel secure and understood.
Soon, the weight of the day's events and the comfort of his mother's presence caused Veer to drift into a deep, restful sleep.
