This chapter is a Mahashivratri special. I thought of writing this but sought of caught up in some work. Already telling it will be little bit emo. Let's GOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Author POV:
Morning rays chirped through the window of Veeraksh's room, veer who was sleeping peacfully cuddling. He was in deep sleep or a dream that he didn't know when he fell down on the ground.
"Ouuch", he winced in pain and got up. He thought akshu again kicked him and started searching for her. But finding the bed empty, he got stressed. He went out in search of his wife in the whole chamber.
"Akshu........Sweetheart!", veer called her names so many times, when he heard the closet door opening. He turned around to see what happened, when he stopped in his tracks and stood dumbfounded there. His wife cladded in a White net saree with beautiful blouse, hairs open, minimal jewellery and red chooda making the look more enchanting.
Veer couldn't take his eyes off his wife, Akshu. Her beauty had always been a source of enchantment for him. He couldn't help but mumble, "Enchantress," as he gazed at her. Akshu blushed, feeling her husband's intense gaze on her.
After yesterday's incident, when Veer had taken her side, Akshu had decided to make this marriage work. She had realized that Veer was the perfect partner for her, and she was willing to do everything in her power to maintain their relationship.
As Akshu waved her hands in front of Veer to bring him out of his daze, he looked at her in confusion. "Sweetheart, is there anything special? It's too early in the morning," Veer asked her.
"Actually, today is Mahashivratri, and every year I keep a Vrath so that I can get a good husband," Akshu explained, smiling as she thought of her beloved Mahadev.
Veer questioned her about whether she had received the fruit of her Vrath. "So, you got your vrath ka phal. You got a good husband?" he asked her.
"So, you got your vrath ka phal (Fruit). You got a good husband?", veer questioned her making Akshu blush. He doesn't believe in God, but will never disrespect Akshu's faith,
"Yeah, he is right in front of me.", Akshu said looking down. Veer pulled her towards him by waist and said, "Haaye, jaan tum toh such me kisi din meri jaan lelogi."
"How am I looking??", Akshu asked and veer was stunned.
His thoughts,"Aaj Suraj kaha se uga. Ohh chaddo yarr. Sanu ki"
" You look breathtaking in this white saree, like a swan with full of elegance. And I can die to see you like this sweetheart. I love you", Veer said making Akshu blush. She was playing with the hem of her saree pallu. She said while matching her eyes with him, " Thankyou"
"Sweetheart, let's go shopping today.", Veer said and was waiting for Akshu's reply. "Ummm..aaj mera fast h aur mujhe puja bhi karni h kal chale.", Akshu hesitate a bit fearing if veer will shout at her. He just hummed in response and gave her kiss on cheeks. " He is shameless", Akshu said rubbing her cheeks and went downstairs.
Akshu took a deep breath before approaching the elders in the drawing room. She knew that they had been waiting for her to arrive, and she could feel their expectant gazes on her as she made her way towards them. But despite her nervousness, she tried to maintain a calm and poised demeanor.
As she approached, Veer's father called out to her affectionately, "Aao betaji." Akshu smiled and greeted everyone with a respectful bow, touching each of their feet in turn. "Mahashivratri ki hardik shubhkamnaye," she offered, wishing them a happy and auspicious holiday.
But then her eyes fell on Bua ji, who was sipping her tea and watching her with a critical eye. Akshu felt a sudden tension in her chest, unsure of how to approach this woman who seemed to hold so much sway over her family.
Meera, sensing Akshu's discomfort, stepped forward to introduce her daughter. "Didi, she is Akshu, Veer's bride and my daughter," she said, her voice warm and welcoming. Akshu's heart swelled with gratitude at her mother's words, grateful for the love and acceptance she had found in her new family.
But Bua ji was not so easily won over. "Konse gharane se ho bahu?" she asked, her tone sharp and probing. Akshu felt her throat go dry as she tried to formulate an answer. She knew that her lack of a family background was a sore point, and she didn't want to cause any more tension or conflict.
"I do...not have....any legacy or any family from my side," she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper. She clutched at her saree, feeling exposed and vulnerable under Bua ji's gaze.
But then Veer stepped forward, placing a reassuring hand on Akshu's shoulder. "She is my legacy, my family," he declared, his voice ringing with conviction. Akshu felt her heart swell with gratitude. Her body relaxed when she heard him whisper near her ear, "Little Birdie, I am always for you, you are never alone...Hmm.."
"Veer beta, I was just asking," she said, her voice dripping with fake laughter. "Accha, Veer and all others have breakfast. We all ladies are going to the temple," Dadiji declared, trying to diffuse the tension. Everyone nodded and went away except for Veer.
"Sweetheart, come have some food," Veer said, trying to make his wife eat. He was worried about her health, knowing she wasn't in the best condition. "I am fasting, Veeransh, and thanks for your concern," Akshu said, excusing herself and went away with others.
As they left for the temple, Bua ji sat next to Meera and Akshu in the car. She glared at Akshu, wanting to defame her. Bua ji didn't think Akshu was capable of being with Veer and his family status and money.
Akshu felt nervous under Bua ji's gaze. She sat near the window side, trying to distract herself by gazing at the outside scenery. Upon reaching the temple, Akshu went towards the flower stall to bring some ingredients for the pooja of Mahadev. She was looking for the right amount of flowers when she heard Bua ji's voice again.
"Using the money of your husband, such a gold digger girl you are," Bua ji said, tauntingly.
Akshu's heart sank. She knew that Bua ji's words would spread like wildfire throughout the family. She couldn't bear the thought of being labeled a gold digger. "Buaji, please believe me," Akshu pleaded, her voice trembling. "I would never do something like that. You are mistaken."
But bua ji was not convinced. "Talking back to me...huhh...the audacity of this girl," she shouted, her face contorted in anger.
Akshu felt a lump form in her throat. She had always tried to be respectful to her elders, but it seemed that no matter what she did, she would always be seen as an outsider.
Just then, Meera, Akshu's mother-in-law, called out to them. She was standing at the stairs, holding plates of offerings to Mahadev. "Didi, Akshu, come here," she said.
Akshu and bua ji walked over to Meera, who gave them each a plate. Akshu walked with her mother-in-law, feeling grateful for her kind presence.
Soon, the jal abhishekh (offering) started, and everyone did Aarti. Afterwards, everyone went out to give prasad and food to beggars. Akshu was delighted to see the happy faces of the needy people, and she felt a sense of fulfillment in knowing that she was doing something good.
But her happiness was short-lived.
"I think we need one more shawl," bua ji interrupted, her tone icy. "Yes, we have buaji," Akshu said, reaching for another shawl.
"Take it, you will need it girl," bua ji said, her words dripping with disdain.
Meera heard the insult, and she was going to give her the answer but Akshu didn't want any trouble. She just wanted to go home and forget about the whole thing.
"Maa, shall we go home? Please," she requested, her voice barely above a whisper. Meera looked at her with concern and nodded her head in agreement. As Akshu and Meera were walking down the stairs, Akshu suddenly felt her surroundings spinning and becoming blurry. Before she could even process what was happening, she fainted in the arms of her husband. Veer, who had been feeling restless all morning, rushed to his wife's side and was shocked to see her unconscious.
"Akshu, baby, wake up!" Veer shouted in panic, cradling his wife in his arms. He quickly ordered the driver to drive fast, desperate to get Akshu medical attention. As they drove, Veer noticed that Akshu's cheeks were stained with tears, and he knew that something had happened at the temple that had caused her to faint.
"Please wake up, Akshu," Veer pleaded, his voice gentle but laced with worry. When they finally arrived at their home, Veer carried Akshu to their room, where everyone was puzzled by what had happened. Meera explained what had transpired at the temple, and Dadiji was furious with Buaji for causing Akshu such distress.
The doctor was summoned and was taken to Veeraksh's room, Veer asked when the doctor reached, "Doctor, see Why Akshu fainted?". His worried expressions stunned her, because she was their family doctor and she very well knows. That veer isn't the one to show his emotions immediately.
The doctor checked Akshu's vitals and Blood pressure and concluded, "Veer, something triggered her that's why her Blood pressure raised, and she fainted. I have given her the injection; she will soon regain her consciousness. Take these medicines and make her eat now. Her health is so poor. Take care of her, if you need anything I am just a call away", the doctor instructed, and veer thanked her.
He came along with her to drop her outside. As the doctor left, Veer turned towards his family. He was furious after hearing the doctor's analysis. He sat in the middle of the chair and sternly asked, "What happened in the temple?" Bua ji was afraid but wanted to protect herself from Veer's wrath. She tried to cover up her actions by saying, "Veer Beta, she is faking all this. I know...girls like her are wh..." Bua ji couldn't finish her sentence as Veer stood up from his chair and grabbed her by the neck. She gasped for air, struggling to breathe.
"How dare you say that about my wife? You filthy lady, I will kill you!" Veer shouted, his eyes filled with anger. "Veer stoppp!!!", dadiji ordered and veer left her.
Veer's eyes narrowed in anger as he glared at the woman standing before him. How dare she come near his wife? How dare she try to intrude in their private life? He felt a surge of protectiveness towards his beloved Akshu, and he wasn't going to let anyone harm her.
"Get lost from my sight," he growled, his voice low and dangerous. "And if I ever see you near my wife again, I will shoot you straight in the head."
The woman flinched at his words, clearly taken aback by his aggression. Veer didn't care. He gestured towards the guards standing nearby. "Throw her out!" he commanded.
The guards moved forward, grabbing the woman by the arms and dragging her away. Veer watched her go, his jaw clenched in fury. He couldn't believe that anyone would be so audacious as to try and come between him and Akshu.
Suddenly, he felt a hand on his arm. He turned to see his mother, Meera, looking up at him with a worried expression. "Veer, beta calm down," she said softly. "Everything will be fine."
Veer took a deep breath, trying to control his emotions. He knew his mother was right. He couldn't let his anger get the better of him. He nodded curtly and turned to go upstairs.
"I'm going to Akshu," he said, his voice tense. "I think she'll need me."
As he climbed the stairs, his heart was pounding in his chest. He didn't know what he was going to find when he reached Akshu's room, but he knew that he had to be there for her.
When he reached the top of the stairs, he saw Akshu standing there, her eyes paled and her cheeks turned rosy. She looked like she had been crying.
"Akshu!" he called out to her, but she ran away to her room.
Veer's heart sank as he watched her go. He knew that something was wrong. He quickened his pace and soon reached Akshu's room. He knocked on the door two or three times, but there was no response.
"Please, Akshu," he pleaded. "Open the door, sweetheart."
After a few moments of silence, he heard a soft click as the lock was turned. The door opened slowly, revealing Akshu sitting on the floor near the bed, tears streaming down her face.
Veer's heart broke at the sight of her. He rushed forward and took her in his arms, holding her tightly as she cried.
"It's okay, Akshu," he whispered, his voice soft and soothing. "I'm here now. Everything's going to be okay."
Veer Pov:
I will kill that bitch, she hurt my Akshu. I knew that I couldn't let her go. I love her too much. So, I did what any man in my position would do. I made her sit on the bed and gave her some water. She tried to refuse, but I insisted. "Sweetheart," I said, "your mahadev won't see her child suffer due to illness. Hmm...now drink like a good girl."
As she finished the water, she looked up at me with tears in her eyes. I could see the pain and confusion in her face, and it broke my heart even more. I knew that I had to stay strong for her, but it was becoming more and more difficult with each passing moment.
Suddenly, she spoke again. "Divorce me," she said, her voice shaking. I felt like I had been hit in the gut with a sledgehammer. The pain was so intense that I couldn't even speak. All I could do was stare at her, my mind racing with a million different thoughts.
I felt a surge of anger and frustration building inside of me, and I didn't know how to control it. I stood up and asked her, "What did you say, AKSHARA!!!", my voice rising with each word. She flinched and her cries increased, but I couldn't let my anger out on her. Instead, I turned to the dressing table mirror and punched it with all my strength.
The glass shattered into a million pieces, flying across the room and embedding itself into the walls. Akshu screamed my name, but I didn't care. All I could see was the broken mirror, reflecting back at me the shattered pieces of my heart.
I turned back to Akshu, my hand bleeding from the cuts I had received from the broken glass. She was coming towards me, trying to comfort me, but I pushed her away. "VEERANSH", She screamed "Your hand is bleading. Please STOPP!!", she was coming near me. But I stopped her. "Did you see this, its broken in pieces." I showed her the pieces shattered on the floor and then pointed towards my heart, " Here....Here it's shattered hearing the words that I hate the most from your mouth. You want me to divorce you, SAY it" Akshu's absence will make me dead from inside.
"Please I don't want to be a shame and problem for you and your family, in front of the world.", she said, andI couldn't let her think like that. I grabbed her arms and looked into her eyes, determined to make her see reason. "Listen, Sweetheart," I said firmly. "Did I say I was going to divorce you? I will fight for you against the whole world and even burn the whole fucking world, if that's what you want. But I can't do it without my love for you. I didn't marry you to get divorced. Get that thing in your pretty little head."
With that, I let go of her arms and stormed out of the room. Feeling angry and frustrated, I headed towards my bar area to pour myself a drink. I knew that only alcohol could distract me from the chaos and turmoil that I was feeling inside. However, as soon as I reached for the glass, it was snatched away from me. My initial reaction was one of fury, but as I looked up, I saw my wife Akshu, and my temper subsided.
"Sweetheart, go from here. I want to control my anger," I said, trying to snatch the glass back from her. But she kept it aside and pulled me along with her to her room. I was too stunned to resist, and so I followed her like a lost puppy.
As we entered her room, I noticed that it was spotless. She made me sit on the bed and ordered me to stay put while she went to grab a first aid kit. I was still feeling confused and emotional, but I complied with her instructions.
When she returned, she sat down next to me and started treating my wound. "Baby, don't cry," I said, wiping her tears from my other hand. "First you make me cry and now you are wiping it," she replied, sobbing.
In that moment, I realized just how much I had hurt her. I had caused her to cry and worry about our marriage, and for what? A moment of anger and frustration. I knew that I had to make things right.
"I am not going to ask for a divorce," she said, looking into my eyes. "I have decided that I will give our marriage another chance. But please don't hurt yourself. I was so scared when I saw you holding Buaji's neck. I can't bear to see my family fight because of me. I am sorry, Veeransh."
As she spoke those words, I felt a weight lifted from my shoulders. I knew that our journey would not be easy, but I was willing to do whatever it takes to make things work. My poor heart was filled with hope.
I held Akshu tightly in my arms, feeling her body shake with sobs. I knew that she was going through a tough time, and I want to be there for her, to provide comfort and support. "Akshu, I am always here for you," I whispered, my voice filled with love and concern. "Don't cry. Hmm. I love you and will always protect you. Never ever say that you will leave me because I will die without you."
Akshu's tears slowly subsided as she leaned into Veer's embrace, feeling safe and loved. She knew that he would always be there for her, through thick and thin. "Veer, I am tired," she said softly, her voice hoarse from crying. "Can I go and sleep?"
Veer nodded, kissing her forehead gently. "Yes, baby, go. Get some rest. I will call you at dinner time," he said, watching as she slowly made her way towards the bed.
As he walked towards his home office to do some work, Veer couldn't help but think about the importance of communication in a relationship. He knew that if he and Akshu didn't talk to each other, didn't share their feelings and concerns, it could create a rift between them. He made a mental note to always be open and honest with her, to listen to her and support her no matter what.
